Situated at one of the highest points in Los Chivos, Viento Norte is a architectural masterpiece, conceived as a labor of love by international architect and exhibition curator Carlos Fierro. Completed just shy of five years ago and currently operating as a luxury Airbnb, this singular private residence combines concrete, glass, wood, and light in a cohesive, modern composition.
Perched above Vieques, the house commands extraordinary 180-degree views across the Caribbean. The architecture is deliberately restrained, with a distinctly brutalist character softened by the warmth of its surroundings and the ever-changing Caribbean light.
Arrival is through a grand solid cement pivot door, opening into a main level centered around an expansive open-concept living area. Custom designed elements are seamlessly integrated throughout, from built in cement and wood storage to a concealed television compartment and drop-down projection screen. Floor-to-ceiling glass sliding doors surround the living space, placing the landscape at the heart of the home. The adjacent kitchen features a generous poured concrete island that seats eight and serves as both a gathering space and bar, with everything needed for everyday living and entertaining.
The living space extends beyond the glass, with a covered balcony that descends to the pool terrace via monumental concrete stairs.
